pipabix 0 Posted May 16, 2010 just running a few cables for the future, incase i go CCTV as the house is well back from the road and hidden, anyone to hear an alarm wouldnt find the house that easy. . . anyway. . heres what im doing, , , running RG59 to camera points running Cat 5e to camera points and running a 2 core cable for powering up the cameras. . . Question, the 2 core i got from the supplier is 2 X .75mm2. is this cable ok for powering up? would be great if i could get a response asap as im wiring today. . Thanks Hi. all cables you intend using are fine. its a good idea to future prof your cable so as you can go standard or ip and extra from sound or telementry. scorpion 0 Posted May 16, 2010 Most cameras would use 12 volt DC, or 24 volt AC. I would run RG 59 Siamese wire. This will give you the a 18 gauge two conductor wire for the power. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
pipabix 0 Posted May 16, 2010 cant get the siamese cable anywhere this weekend, seems to be only available on internet. i needed this weekend.
