The problem is that DVR stopped record from 2010/05/15 18:41:57 until 2010/05/16 01:33:34 and my client told me that he didn't touch anything on dvr or via web browser. When I am going to search the playback video jump from 18:41:57 to 01:33:34

This is a wild guess.

 

The power disruption may have caused a glitch and the DVR did not record. The next power outage may have powered down the DVR and allowed it to reboot correctly.

 

Do they have a battery back up UPS? I would suggest they get one if they do not have one.

 

Where security is of the essence then log in to the DVR on a daily basis and check the date time group. If it is correct then everything is working. If the date time group is off then this is a sign of a problem.

No I don't have a ups so i believe you have right about power disruptions.

So I am going to install a UPS, reformat the HDD and see If everything are playing OK.

I would not reformat the hard drive.
