jc322 0 Posted May 19, 2010 Hello, I am looking for some recommendations with respect to 3.5 sata drives. I need to get two 1TB or 1.5 TB drives for a Pc that I am going to install a avermedia 6480. I am assuming that some drives are better for writing and storage of video from the cameras. Thanks
Soundy 1 Posted May 20, 2010 Short of going to 10,000 rpm enterprise-grade drives, there's not a huge difference from one to the next for basic DVR use. 7200 rpm, get the largest write cache you can (16, 32 and 64MB are common)... I've had one manufacturer recommend avoiding "green" drives for 24/7 uses.
bpzle 0 Posted May 20, 2010 Agreed.... say no to green. I had some serious issues writing to them, too slow.
