msw1090 0 Posted May 27, 2010 Good morning, quick question for you folks. I am looking to purchase 4 Zavio F531E security cameras with power over ethernet support. If I purchase an POE switch, can I plug these cameras into the POE switch, then into my router and access them via the network? Or do I have to buy some sort of NVR device to capture video? Thanks in advance!
D&C_ELECTRONICS 1 Posted May 28, 2010 Hello. The Zavio F531E cameras are PoE (IEEE 802.3af) Compatible. You can use a PoE switch to plug the Cameras but you have to be careful about the Swich Power output. The Camera Power Consumption is 12W, so the PoE Switch got to have 12W per port. Zavio offers a 16Ch NVR software in order to record and remote monitoring your cameras, so you need just a PC. If you need some more advance features from the NVR, you have to purchase NVR software of Stand Alone NVR.
