rawbe 0 Posted June 22, 2010 I have spent three Sundays (my day off) on the phone with techs (remotely) trying to setup my DSL Netopia router to portforward my Nuvico EV8000 to view my cameras at my store remotely. I have also spent hours on the phone with AT&T troubleshooting why the signal isn't working. All techs say, "It should be working." I called Nuvico and had a tech who I could hardly hear be rude to me and say it's not their problem. THANKS! I have spent over three thousand dollars on a machine that has no tech support. ANY HELP??? WHERE DO I GO TO GET NUVICO SUPPORT? thanks, Robbie
Harrar 0 Posted June 22, 2010 I'm sure someone can help but not without asking a whole bunch of questions. Is your internet line at your shop static or dynamic? What model is your shop's Netopia router and what is it's address? Is the DVR set in this range? Is there another computer plugged into the router at your shop and can you access the DVR from it using it's LAN address? Did you assign a static IP address to your DVR or is it set to DHCP getting one from the router? What ports did you forward to the DVR? Only 7000 is needed for newer models, older models require 1104, 7777 and 9999. Is the DVR's Default Gateway and DNS Server set to the address of your router? If your shop's internet address is dynamic, did you activate the DNS client and assign the xxxx.dvrhost.com service to track the changing IP address? I assume you appended the IP address of the DVR with :7000 or :7777 when trying to access it remotely? Can you ping your router from home? Sorry if the questions are kind of basic but sometimes the simple things can get overlooked.
rawbe 0 Posted November 18, 2010 I sent the DVR back to Nevico and their were problems with the unit. I'm about to try this remote setup again. After reading Harrar's post I'm thinking this is a lost cause.
rawbe 0 Posted November 18, 2010 I just got off the phone with Nuvico tech support (2nd time) and still no remote veiwing. I've had 3 AT&T techs try to get this problem resolved, nothing. All techs logged on to my computer and couldn't get it to work. Wow. At&t says its the the Nuvico DVR. Nuvico says its the At&t router. I want to like this unit but all it has given me is WASTED HOURS talking about IP addresses and pinholes!!!
tmunroe 0 Posted November 18, 2010 I just bought a Nuvico AL-1600 it lasted one day. I was able to port forward and remote view, but then for some reason I lost live video on the remote view, could never get it back, I was able to view saeved video remotely. Tech support for me was ok but they couldnt fix it, so it went back Nuvico Now trying to decide what to buy to replace it
