hardwired 0 Posted June 23, 2010 Yeah, I've been a Milestone Partner since 2007, and price has been one of the biggest hurdles in implementing Milestone in more of my installs, I'd been using more Exacq recently, but will probably be doing more Milestone again soon... FYI, MSRP is $99 for two camera base, and $49 per channel, up to 26 cameras.
akelley 0 Posted July 14, 2010 What about their mandatory maintenance contracts? That was part of the cost hurdles I never could overcome...
hardwired 0 Posted July 14, 2010 The maintenance contract (PMA) isn't a requirement, it just enables updating product versions throughout the term of the contract, or applying full trade-up value towards a higher level product.. The product itself will work without, or with an expired, maintenance contract. If you do want it, though, the one year PMA for Essential is $18.00 (MSRP) for the base license (two cameras), and $9.00 per camera after that.

thewireguys 3 Posted July 15, 2010 Is there a limit on the number of concurrent client connections? Is there a web interface?
hardwired 0 Posted July 15, 2010 On Essential, it has a five concurrent user limit, and it does have a web interface that allows either downloading the full-featured Smart Client, or running the light Remote Client from the web interface (does need Windows and IE to work with the plugins, though)
SureVeillance 0 Posted July 15, 2010 I have been checking this out as well. A full comparison is here: http://www.milestonesys.com/products/ip_video_software/product_overview I have to say, that although the maintenance is expensive, they just helped me with an issue configuring a new IPX DDK-1600D (which requires the use of admin instead of the out of box default 'root') and the tech support was very responsive. Plus the upgrade to version 7 was covered by the maintenance contract.
