riyaz2222 0 Posted July 10, 2010 My DVR has digital zooming upto 8x (8times), and when zooming the picture, picture quality drops and the images are not clear. Is there a DVR or technology to enhance the quality of recorded video clips. Identify a person or item is not possible with the DVR. Supplier wants us to use PTZ camera with live monitoring for clear identification. Which is not practical for us. bpzle 0 Posted July 10, 2010 Short answer: no. Hollywood magic is just that. If the pixels are not there, there's little to be done. Only simple Photoshop tricks can be applied. If you need more detail, buy more analog cameras or upgrade your system and go megapixel.
Erron S. 0 Posted July 12, 2010 riyaz2222, what you are saying about the PTZ's not being practical is exactly the reason why so many chose going to megapixel cameras. In a lot of cases they still need a wide angle shot but need the pixels to be there after the fact. How far of a shot are you trying to capture? (distance from the camera basically)
