MAS 0 Posted August 1, 2010 Hi all I am new to forums but I do have a lot of experience in electronics and cctv, I left school, got a job (£20.55 per week) as an apprentice for an electrical contractor (industrial) got to grips with designing printed circuit boards for high speed packing machinery etc and everything else electrical/electronic up to 11kv sub stations, I did this for 10 years and then decided to work for myself, I started MAS in 1985 as a small alarm company, working from my house used to make my own control panels, sabs etc. eventually installed about 5000 systems. in 1991 moved into a security wholesale, started supplying other installers in the area. 1995 I expanded into manufacturing making various products required for the wholesale side of the business (mainly modules sabs, timers, strobes etc) In 1999 I designed and patented my doorbell camera Visibell, It won the DTI smart award. In 2000 I expanded into injection moulding to add contacts, attack buttons and Visibell to the manufacturing side of the business. I had to move premises several times to cope with the expansion, doubling or tripling the unit size each time. In 2001 bought a brand new building (£500k) and converted it to probably the largest CCTV demo room in the country with everything on working display. We also moved into Electrical Wholesale. The idea was to become a CCTV specialist as the alarm supply side had become a generalist market through Electrical Wholesalers trashing out prices (basically they pee'd in our pond we where going to flood theirs)!!! (apparently there are 6 less wholesalers in our area now). We got the sales up past £3m and started looking toward importing high end DVR's, we met Avermedia at IFSEC, committed to them and we are now one of the biggest Avermedia Distributors in the UK. We have now subcontracted out our manufacturing and converted the workshop into our conference and Avermedia training facility, here we demonstrate the high end features such as cross recording between sites, triple hybrid recording ie mixing old analogue cameras, remote cameras from another dvr and pure ip cameras all recording on the same recorder. also we demonstrate full epos till integration through rs232 or ethernet (udp or tcp) where the till information is stored in a database which can either be searched or trigger words to send an email with picture (eg no sale, void) Anyway I would be happy to help with any high end projects or problems Mark Morris md MAS
