ger42 0 Posted August 5, 2010 I am waiting for 2 IP and 2 analog cameras to arrive and my neighbor to schedule a day to run cables. Since wiring has not started should I run cat5 to all camera locations and then split it for the 2 analog cameras I'm getting. I have space to add 2 more IP and 2 more analog. Birdman Adam 0 Posted August 5, 2010 You can use analog cameras just fine with cat5. Make sure you use baluns at both ends. You only need to use one of the twisted pairs in the cable for video. The rest can be split in half for power. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
