slammie 0 Posted August 9, 2010 Hi all, as you can tell I am new to this forum. I have some experience with analog systems but I would like to put together my first IP system. I have used panasonic products before so would like to go with them for an IP system, however with thier IPRO line a NVR is required which blows the budget. Thier residential line can record straight to a PC which I like, but I am not sure of the quality of thier residential line and software. What are the downsides of direct to PC recording? What other brands of software and cameras should I be looking at? I am interested in recording all the time for a minimum of one week. I am also interested in motion detection to alert the guard or for playback searching. Any advice or recommendations on hardware would be very helpful. Specs: 5 total PTZ's, outdoor, - all with night capability, preferably megapixel. Two of them with IR or extreme low light capability Budget: around $10k One monitor. Prefer to record directly to PC. Prefer POE.
ChrisP 0 Posted August 16, 2010 What ever you do get brand name cameras and have tech support for them. Panasonic cameras are very expensive. Make sure you have at least a quad intel processor.
