WendyT 0 Posted August 26, 2010 I am using DynDNS server to update my Dynamic IP through Linksys WRT54GH. It worked well for couple of months, but now I found that the DDNS is not running, with a status "An unexpected server error : badagent !". Why is it so? Can somebody help me? Birdman Adam 0 Posted August 28, 2010 So you are having the router update the IP address to DynDNS? I'm thinking its a problem with your router, as in how often it updates. DynDNS accounts will get blocked if they get updated too often. I'll bet that's what the 'badagent' means.
rory 0 Posted August 28, 2010 http://www.dyndnscommunity.com/questions/4974/linksys-wrt120n-ver-1-0-0-1-badagent might be that you have too many accounts with DynDns, or the router is updating too much and they flagged it as a bad one
Birdman Adam 0 Posted August 28, 2010 I had a similar problem when I was using my WRT54G to update the IP for my zoneminder cctv server. I didn't get the badagent error, it just said 'update failed'. In one of the firmware versions for the WRT54G routers they changed how often the update feature did its thing, plus some other stuff. I suggest you update your firmware. This may take care of your problem.
