Luis_AM3C 0 Posted August 27, 2010 Hi, I did a design using passive video balun for transmite video analog signal. I found a type of UTP wire that is more cheap, but isnt 100% copper, is 70/30 aluminiun and copper, the wire said is Catergory 5E. My question is if i can use it wire with video balun for video and if the resistance is higher because sometime use the same wire for power supply. Soundy 1 Posted August 27, 2010 Baluns don't NEED UTP... they'll work with just about any type of wire. I've used them with station wire, speaker wire.... I see no reason they shouldn't work fine with that stuff.
