Post recording on GEO-600 (16) card

On the setup menu for GEO-600 (16) card, running under os 2000 pro, I have checked post recording time of 5 seconds. The system is local recording only, motion on each camera. However, I can't tell any difference in the post recording. Seems to be the same as if it were not checked. Am I over looking something? Your help will be most appreciated. Robert

if it has pre recording try that also. That really makes the difference.
