arris1 0 Posted September 10, 2010 Hi all My first post to this forum and would ask some assistance Geovision 1240 card 8 port. Can see 5 cameras but not the remaining three. Can see cameras in advanced settings but they wont come up on screen when viewing all cameras. Can record but cannot for the life of me find any settings other than activating cameras which i have. Some of these cameras are cheap dome type others are profesional samsung etc which i can view.Is there something in the settings i cannot see ? Or is it something in the installation such as power supply, but if i can see the video then why is it not showing up on screen? Any suggestions would be appreciated
Birdman Adam 0 Posted September 12, 2010 If you switch the cameras around are the last 3 still not working? Or do the non-working ones follow the cheap cameras?
arris1 0 Posted September 13, 2010 Hi Birdman If i switch the feeds the cameras show up but only the five and can view but the three still dont show up so the cameras can be ruled out. regards
code58 0 Posted September 14, 2010 Hi, Have you tested the power cable & also the data cable?
arris1 0 Posted September 14, 2010 Hi Code58 I am not technically expert enough to test cables that is ( current) etc ,however i do see all eight cameras in advanced video properties and can record all eight cameras. The three cameras dont come up as video lost, if i swap cables to cameras the cameras feed that is switched come up. If i can see all eight cameras in video, have all cameras monitored and can record i would have thought the power supply was ok ( not sure on this). I had added the three cameras at a later stage and seem to think it is something to do with the geovision software that holds some sort of storage file in the settings embedded in xp that is not removed when uninstalling the geovision software just like the password seems to be kept in some file that is not uninstalled. I have uninstalled software and reinstalled but same result? regards
themerchant 0 Posted September 14, 2010 sounds like a configuration problem and uninstalling the software will not change that (some files are kept). you need to goto geovision and get a manual for your card. It will come in handy anyways, but will show you how to add additional cameras to the ones that are setup.
rory 0 Posted September 14, 2010 edit the user settings, make sure those 3 cameras have been checked for that user in live view - in other words sounds like they have been set as covert, which means they will still record, just cant view them live.
arris1 0 Posted September 15, 2010 Hi Rory a little new at this can you point me to where these settings might be found. regards

SEANHAWG 1 Posted November 5, 2010 You said you can see the camera views in advanced settings? Yes I agree it is a configuration. Start fresh and do a factory default reset on the setting and they should show up again.
