squale 0 Posted February 27, 2004 I these are them... http://www.winnov.com/products/capture/index.htm#surveillance What do you think? I was told that Geovision's specs are for INTERLACED FPS... and NOT PROGRESSIVE. I heard that INTERLACED counts the EVEN and ODD frames as 2 frames. And that PROGRESSIVE counts EVEN and ODD as 1 frame. So therefore PROGRESSIVE is much faster.. anybody know about this?
cctv_down_under 0 Posted February 28, 2004 Your are talking about fields, some manufactorers count fields not frames there are two fileds in every frame and they are interlaced, it is impossible to do large resolutions on 16 cameras without hardware compression, that I am sure of! squale 0 Posted February 28, 2004 what cards have hardware compression? do stand-alone DVR's use hardware compression?
cctv_down_under 0 Posted February 28, 2004 Not many... Skyview, Winnertech to name a few.. the reason that standalones can do it is that there is no PCI bus.
cctv_down_under 0 Posted March 12, 2004 Geo counts frames not fields but at 320x240
