bunz 0 Posted September 16, 2010 Hey Guys, I’m new here and was wondering whether someone can help give me some direction on an HDR system I require. Specs: 8 Cameras Connectors - should plug with normal Power & RCA ideally, I think it makes things easier Focus distance at a range of 7cm – 20 cm [approx] Lighting capabilities - Cameras will be used in an indoor lighted environment [card room] Size – Door-eye style/shape would be ideal [are these called bullet cameras?] Resolution – 640 x 480 at 30fps would be great but anything close would do 1 HDD HDD big enough for 20 hours recording per channel 1 DVR 8 channels Including Hdd Usb connector for additional HDD or pendrive Controls from unit itself is enough, mouse would be good too. DVD writer would be nice, but not necessary Are these specs good enough? To film approximately 20 hours of footage? I am building a table to play cards on, and would like to add the functionality of recording the cards which are dealt to the players, like you see on TV. I have no preference of stand-alone units, or pc based units. The unit does not require network capabilities, or remote viewing, or any of those frills. I would rather spend the money on higher quality recording, to make a fun video after we’ve played some games. The bullet cameras would be ideal as they would fit nicely under the cushioned table rail, there is about 2 – 3 inches of height in which they can fit. The unit will be used approximately 4 – 8 times a year, for about 10 – 20 hours each time. IMPORTANT: The unit needs to have some feature that doesn’t erase the data in the event of a power-cut, or at least I need to be able to recover the data recorded up to the point of the power-cut. Are there any support sytems available or does this feature come with the normal units? I’ve found some items for sale on ebay but I’m not so sure about what brands are reliable or not. My budget is around 500 – 800usd give or take Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks and regards, Bunz
survtech 0 Posted September 16, 2010 Hey Guys, I’m new here and was wondering whether someone can help give me some direction on an HDR system I require. Specs:... The biggest problem would be installing cameras in the rail. You would have to use very small board cameras and mount them to the rail or under the table with a clear glass viewing window. Try Marshall Electronics. They have a good selection of small cameras and lenses for them. http://www.mars-cam.com/IVS/Cameras/cameras.html#Board Otherwise, you can see the entire table with a megapixel camera located over the table. Of course, you wouldn't see the "down" cards until they are filpped over.
