SEANHAWG 1 Posted September 22, 2010 I just got a hold of a Panasonic Super Dynamic PTZ WV-CS654. I just went on a massive Google quest to find the manual without any luck. Supposedly you can control the PTZ over the Coax cable. This is new to me. My question is, is there an adapter that I can get to plug into my regular RS-485 inputs on my DVR to control this thing? And then after that I gotta figure out which protocol and baud rate these work on but first I wanted to see if there is some kind of adapter I can use to make this work. themerchant 0 Posted September 22, 2010 not sure about your camera, but Pelco made something similar called 'coaxitron' which require special translators
SEANHAWG 1 Posted September 22, 2010 Yeah I seen those but I was hoping to just get some cheap converter or adapter to make this work if possible. Something that would split into a Y with RS-485 outputs on one side and Coax cable on the other side or something like this.

Bean00 0 Posted October 25, 2010 If your DVR supports either Panasonic or Pelco P(not D) then yes you can. ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/pub/Panasonic/cctv/FAQ/10.RS-485_Configuration.pdf As I recall there are a few features you need the Panasonic Controller for. SEANHAWG 1 Posted October 25, 2010 I sold it a while back. I didnt want to spend $200-300+ on a converter for a camera I paid $35 for. Thanks for all the suggestions though.
