coolspot 0 Posted October 2, 2010 (edited) Hi all, Just got an iCatch x11 DVR; most of the features seem to work great except for e-mail notification. I can't seem to get the unit to send out an e-mail even though I've configured all the settings. In fact, I've put a sniffer on the LAN port and it does not seem to send out e-mails when motion is triggered. So how do I get e-mail notification to work? Do e-mails get sent out immediately, or are they processed at a later time? I've also upgraded to the b92 firmware but it has not resolved the issue. Thanks. If SSL is available on the server, it will attempt to negotiate SSL, however, SSL support doesn't seem to work with my primary mail provider. 2. If it's to yourself, it could be using the "FROM" address - I noticed in the email there is no TO address in the header. Very strange huh? This is what I've observed so far: 1. Using rackspace.com's mail server, it does not work at all. The DVR has trouble negotiating STARTTLS (it will attempt SSL regardless - no option to disable SSL) 2. With Yahoo (Rogers), it has a CRLF issue with the attachment. 3. With Gmail, it negotiates STARTTLS (encryption) correctly, but it is missing the "TO" header. I've tried a "System Restore" to delete all the settings but that did not work. Perhaps I have a dud unit? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I have 4 notifications addresses setup, but none are getting notified (except the sender address). rory 0 Posted October 3, 2010 looks like the base64 is corrupt. that line with the error, if you leave the "t" but remove the rest, you get the attached image. it is obviously missing some encoded strings, perhaps just that one line. so it seems the DVR's SMTP mail program is not encoding the base64 correctly, or its an issue with the source image on the DVR. maybe try an updated firmware? BTW go here if you want to try it yourself: http://www.motobit.com/util/base64-decoder-encoder.asp select decode, and export to binary file, change the extension to .jpg.
