Problems viewing when particular camera is plugged in.

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased a business and inherited a Luxor JPEG2000 DVR with 8 cameras. Recently one of the cameras appears to have stopped working. Whenever it is plugged in all cameras cease to record and cannot be viewed. Once the one camera is disconnected the others all work fine. Any suggestions?

I'd open up the DVR and look to see if the "leads" (probably not the correct term) from the ports for the cameras to the mother board are properly connected or shorted out or whatnot. Luxor is what they sell at BJ's or Sams or somewhere like that, I think... See if you can get a little monitor to check the camera and the cable as well.

do your cameras use UPS for power supply? you should check your ground of dvr,and then check whether the voltage is stable.......

Did you get this fixed? I had the same problem with the power supply have a short on one of the camera connections. When that camera was plugged in the entire power supply shut down knocking all the other cameras offline. Once that short was fixed everything worked fine. You would also get the same result if the ground & hot are flipped.

Hope that helps,

Jacob
