mike698 0 Posted October 9, 2010 My company purchased a retail location, and replaced the security system. The old system was a GE Security SDVR-10PII-320 10 CH StoreSafe Pro II 320 GB DVR. I'm trying to revive the unit but dont have the password. I tried all the default passwords with no luck. Even popped out the CMOS battery but the default passwords are still invalid. Anyone know what i need to do here to reset this unit? Thanks in advance.

mike698 0 Posted October 9, 2010 Only other way besides guessing it is to update the firmware, i think. Yeah i was thinking the same thing, trick is i dont know the IP of the unit, and it dosnt appear to be set for DHCP since i took the MAC off the back and programmed it into my router as a reserverd IP, but it is not taking the IP. Looking through the manuall to try and determine the default IP. Even tried hitting the IP's from the screenshots in the manual with no luck. Anyone know what the default IP of these are? rory 0 Posted October 9, 2010 I use to sell only those DVRs but it was the models prior to the PRO ones. Cant for the life of me remember the default IP if it had one. If it was used though it should have been changed. have you checked the usermanual? Perhaps run a network sniffer on a networked PC?
D.V.S. 0 Posted October 9, 2010 Try Smartsniff here http://download.cnet.com/SmartSniff/3000-2085_4-10457041.html and see if you can locate the ip address.
rory 0 Posted October 9, 2010 Oh yeah the default port for those use to be 1024 if that helps, while 80 was the HTTP port.
mike698 0 Posted October 10, 2010 Rory and D.V.S thanks for the help. I used shark and was able to find the IP of the unit, 3.112.55.10. I was able to connect to it through the network and update the firmware. So progress for sure. The password didnt reset with the upgrade though, so im stuck, i'll probably need to send this into ge. I'm going to play with it a little more just to see. But i think ill call ge monday to see how much it is to have it defaulted. Thanks again for all the help! mike698 0 Posted October 12, 2010 Just to update, Called ge and they indicated that based on the date and the serial number they could generate a password. hoever the unit is stuck at 1/1/1960 and they said there system could not generate a pssword for that date. So they said i need to contact a dealer to have it defaulted.
