Design Advice - Long Range Outdoor CCTV System

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

Newbie here trying to read as much information as I can. I wanted to get advice on a design for an outdoor CCTV system for my mobile home park. The layout of the park is a central office with 3 main roads (spokes). The problem is that the average distance from the center to the end of a spoke is about 600 ft. I would like to get a setup with an 8 channel DVR. I need something with day/night capabilities as well as internet options.

We had one local company who designed the following system (this is the basic 4 channel version with 3 cameras).

2- CFC6500AC: High resolution color cameras cameras, 5 to 50mm varifocal lens, 520 lines of resolution, infrared light to 4920ft, color during the day black and white at night w/infrared,

1- CFC6300AC:High resolution color camera camera, 5 to 50mm varifocal lens, 520 lines of resolution, infrared light to 280ft, color during the day black and white at night w/infrared,

1- 24 volt power supply

1- DVR4050N1000

I have some power poles down the streets and may be able to place cameras farther away from the center but would require quite a bit of cable to get there. I presume that I should not extend more than 200'?

Sorry for the newbie questions and will keep reading. There is a LOT to absorb. Thanks in advance for any advice on design setup, brands, etc.

Howard
