cglaeser 0 Posted October 15, 2010 My Samsung SVD-4400 arrived today and I'm eager to test the low-light capability of this camera, but install design features, ouch, there must be an easier way. The globe has an anti-drop cable, but the camera does not, and the four screws that attach the camera to the mount come all the way out and drop to the ground below, never to be seen again. Not only that, but all the wiring must be neatly packed into the mount as the camera is pushed and held into place while trying to screw in the screws. Apparently, this is a four-handed two-ladder job. The Panasonic 502 mini dome installation design is much better on every count. Any installation tips are welcome. Here's hoping I don't drop this thing tomorrow. Best, Christopher
cglaeser 0 Posted October 15, 2010 The STB275VW wall mount has a separate bracket with conduit threading. I think I will pull an extra 10 feet of cables through this bracket and assemble the camera, wall mount, and wiring on the ground, and then pull back the extra cabling through the bracket and attach the wall mount to the bracket. This seems to make a lot more sense for one DIY on a ladder. Following the order of assembly in the diagram would likely end in disaster.
