irishcrows 0 Posted October 15, 2010 I have installed at DW-VMAX8 DVR. In the recording schedule I have marked that there be no recording between 8 am and 5 pm. Is there a way to prevent web access to the live feed during those times? I would prefer that we not be required to unplug the CAT5 from the router. Thanks Michael
Electryko 0 Posted October 16, 2010 I don't know the DW-VMAX8 DVR but if the DVR is on a LAN and there's a proxy server or the communication goes through a firewall or router you can block IP access to the DVR by setting up a communication schedule in those devices. You could use a Firebox or Uniper firewall right at the DVR but this is a very expensive solution. Electryko

Many basic broadband routers support schedules for controlling access; you could check into what router the system is currently using, or add one for just the DVR. If you were using a PC-based DVR (Windows or Linux), you could set up a scheduled task or cron job that would simply take down the network interface during those hours.
