Looking 4 a Hybrid DVR/NVR w/ Android remote viewing + audio

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to install a CCTV system that has the capability to be accessed remotely over an Android phone, the catch is I need audio streaming with the video. Audio is not a deal breaker, but it's highly desired by the client.

Is there such a solution out there?

My budget isn't the biggest, but I'd like to not spend more than $1500 on the Hybrid DVR/NVR. But I'd like 16 channels, could get by with 8. Audio. Remote access via web and android, preferably something that doesn't require Internet Explorer. D1 recording @ 240fps minimum. Am I asking for too much from the $1500?

Cameras are still up in the air, but I'm leaning towards 5 the Axis M1054's and a couple of pinhole KT&C ACE-VMN320/VMN380's with mics.

Current front runner is the AVerMedia EH5216H. I wish the AVerDiGi IWH3216 was available, but it seems that's not coming until 1st quarter of 2011. Please correct me or direct me to something comparable if it's out there, I'm open to other solutions.

On another note, has anyone disassembled any of these IP cameras and installed them in hidden places? Basically ditching the housing to install inside an object that doesn't look like a camera. Maybe even extending the camera board with a ribbon cable to give some separation from the rest of the camera logic. The Axis M1054 looks small enough to stuff inside of an inconspicuous object if the housing is removed.

Thanks for your help.
