sexydadee 0 Posted October 21, 2010 I have here a client specs that says they require fixed dome camera with integral lens of 2.6 to 6mm DC Iris Lens. To my understanding, Fixed dome cameras are fixed lens cameras. So I don't get it when they mention 2.6 to 6mm DC Iris lens.... Can somebody help clarify this for me? Thank you very much. Update: read up on it... i guess they are looking for a varifocal lens. my question now is. is there such a thing as automatic varifocal or all varifocal are adjusted manually? Bean00 0 Posted October 21, 2010 There are a handful of fixed cameras with zoom lenses but generally speaking they all need to be adjusted by hand.
Soundy 1 Posted October 21, 2010 "Fixed dome" as opposed to PTZ - just means you have to adjust the camera position manually, and it remains fixed after that. Most dome cameras you find with "automatic" varifocal will be PTZs.
