Just starting out and looking for advice about DVR/camera

Hi

I am planning on getting an Avermedia EH 5216H and 4 day/night IR external analogue cameras.

 

I have been told that there is no real point in getting IP cameras and I need nothing else for good web based remote access and control (no CM3000 etc).

 

Can someone confirm that the retailer is correct before I part with my money.

 

PS I know I don't really need a hybrid DVR but would like to keep options open about using an IP camera in the future

Look at the same model.

 

From what I was told, you would only be able to run one 5mp camera, and in doing that you limit the bandwidith left for remaining analog cameras.

 

Was also told that a 1.3mp camera (I guess depending on the brand) would provide a better picture than a 500 line analog (again of decent quality).

 

Where were you looking to get yours?

For analog camera, try AVTECH product. I gives good pictures...
