Help geovision gv 1120 8.3.4 and Vivotek PZ7111

Recommended Posts

Problem with geovision gv 1120 8.3.4 and Vivotek PZ7111 firmware version 201a.

I have no PTZ control through geovision software and only 1/3 of the programmed presets work. I think the problem may be because the firmware version on the cameras is 201a and the firmware version on the geovision third party ip list is 102h. When I installed the IP cameras in the geovision system it gave the error camera does not match make or model and this may cause problems. I have contacted Vivotek support and no one was able to help me, one technician even went as far as to tell me he don't think they ever even made that version. Any thoughts?

After a week of tech support from both Geovision and Vivotek the guys at usavision came up with a resolution. The fix was to upgrade to version 8.4 and

Here are the solution to your Vivotek PZ7111 camera issue.

According to our HQ, Vivotek requires RTSP port 554 if you use H.264 or MPEG4 compression.

Only if you use JPEG will the PZ7111 camera be using port 80 only.

If you intend to use H.264 or MPEG4 compression, then please make sure you open and forward port 554 as well as it will become necessary.

This is straight from GV tech support

Well done!

Good to see you got it to work.

I was looking at that camera and it looks nice. What do you think of it now that you have had a chance to use it for a while? Would you recommend it? Or have you found a better camera with the same features \ price.

I see this place has it for $649. Does that sound like a good price?

I wish I had your luck with usavision. I e-mailed them going on a week now but haven't heard back anything yet. (regarding upgrading my older gv600 v3 to a version that can run GV 8.4.) A camera like that looks like it might be worth the upgrade to a real GV card like the one you have. My GV600 wouldn't be able to control that camera or even view it with Geovision software but I could use the built in web server software at least. Looks like it's running Linux version 2.6 Embedded. Have you used the auto-patrol modes on it? I like the specs of that camera.
