UK Member looking for help on 4 camera cctv system

I am just a member of the public looking for some advice on a CCTV sytem for my home with a dvr

 

I have been recommend a certain type of camera by several sales people 1/3" SONY CCD High Resolution 30M IR Day / Night Weather Proof 4-9mm VariFocal Cable Managed Camera

 

but the price difference between is nearly £200 between the bottom and top price. Which do i buy as they all mention Sony in them so should the case it is in matter?

 

Your advice would be great as need to buy something this week

This is a superb External CCTV camera full of professional features, it has a high resolution of 540TVL giving you a great quality image and with 36 IR LEDs can see up to 30 Metres in complete darkness. It has a 4-9mm Vari-focal lens fitted so you can adjust the zoom & focus (this can be done via the rear of the camera using a small flat screw driver).

 

With the 3-Axis bracket the camera can be mounted in almost any situation and adjusted to give you the perfect view, last but not least the cables run through the actual bracket of the camera directly into the wall to avoid people cutting cables.

Hi Dar. the appollo is not the type of dvr you would attach £200 cameras too. so i would just pop that quote in the bin.

 

the appollo is a hard machine to work around and getting it over the internet. it is a stupid set-up (which they charge £50 for a support phone call) i would look at buying it yourself and i would look at CNB cameras and a avermedia EB3004 sata net, both of which are far better than your dvr and cameras listed.

And don't let the Sony name fool you - almost all low-to-mid grade cameras use the same Sony sensors, as well as come mid-to-upper grade cameras. Cheaper cameras like to really push the brand name, even implying that the cameras themselves are made by Sony (most aren't), but it doesn't mean that much, especially considering Sony isn't the respected name they once were.

So the camera's and DVR are bad or is just the DVR? the cameras are about £110 each

 

Do they sell CNB and avermedia kit in the uk?

hi. the one you have posted is the avers EB3004 sata MD....... it does not net work you need to look for EB3004 sata net. and it has full mobile viewing.

I've recently got the apollo dvr you mention and have had no problems setting up access via the internet and mobile etc. I'm also struggling to see why the dvr Tom is recommending is better - the apollo has audio and sensor inpt for all channels and 3 alarm outputs and the same frame rates etc

 

The cnb cameras look a nice spec though - it'd be interesting to see some images from one of these cameras. Have you managed to find any prices for these in the uk?

Im still waiting on Avermedia to contact me since IFSEC so maybe Tom as your a Avermedia Buff so to speak you can drop me some info and a few demos would be usefull
