antdickens 0 Posted May 31, 2005 HI Whats the best way to give remote access on a mobile. I have tried using HP Ipaq 6340 and the video is ok using wlan but trying to use gprs is very slow and almost unusable. Do any of the new 3G networks have anything that may improve on the situation. I've heard the networks restrict any access to the internet using 3g to force you to use there mini sites! All comments appreciated.
steve6690 0 Posted June 1, 2005 I just bought a 3G phone on "3"'s network. They bar access to the internet so will be no use to you. steve
antdickens 0 Posted June 1, 2005 I've done a bit more research and there are some phones with the symbian software which are 3g able. These may work
msecure 0 Posted August 18, 2005 Actually I can get about 3-5 FPS on GPRS using the Diginet PDA. So if you are using Geovision, then I think the problem is in their PDA software. I can hardly get 1FPS when I was testing the Geovision on the same PDA/Network
bob the b 0 Posted August 18, 2005 Ant, have you tried a vodafone data card? You can fit one via CF card adapter, this allows full internet access at adsl speed. Its a clever bit of trickery as when 3g is not available it automatically swithes to GPRS. I use one on my Dell X50v and it works well.
