Jackrbc 0 Posted December 1, 2010 We have about 16 Bosch WZ18's, and are unhappy with them, we have a DVR in the basement and a program where we can access them online. Short story is that we are sick and tired of dealing with the company that regularly does installation and maintenance and we want to see what cameras are comparable in price and functionality. They will be outdoors and we cannot use separate IR lights due to client preferences. Any help would be appreciated. I have never used/installed/ or handled cameras and DVRs till i came into the security industry so forgive my lack of technical perspective on the subject. -Lucas

Jackrbc 0 Posted December 2, 2010 We've had a private company install them, and they charge an arm and a leg. But so far at night the IR lenses seem to give a distorted picture and wash out alot during the day, usually at noon, even when the sunlight is blocked by trees and foliage. Also we have to constantly adjust the picture because of this problem.
gaautomation 0 Posted December 2, 2010 Look at IC Realtime EL1000 or CNB WCM-20VF. I have used the EL1000 and I am about to replace a WZ18 with one. In my opinion the EL1000 blows it away for less or similar money. I just saw a demo of the CNB and I am going to try to find one to test. The EL-1000 gives a crisp b/w pic at night. rory 0 Posted December 2, 2010 Been through the WZs Bullets myself in the past, ended up giving or throwing them away, their domes were the worst though. Had bad luck with at least 2 of the CNB TDN IR Bullets including their base TDN and one of the more expensive ones (3 times the cost). Wont be using them again any time soon, but their Domes are great (most anyway like the V#M-##VF models). Looking at a KT&C bullet right now which has similar specs to the CNB Domes with a 2.8-12mm lens, 600TVL, full OSD features, dual voltage, plus IR, its the N500 - they have a couple other versions like the N700 which has a heater. On paper the N500 has the specs, whether it performs or not I have yet to test it to find out. On that note I used a Vitek recently which was listed on their own site as saying it is a TDN with IR cut filter but it was not. Watch out for specs as they arent always what they seem to be, especially if you arent buying a camera from an actual manufacturer (eg. CNB and KT&C are actual manufacturers). Dont go for the cheapest as its normally that way for a reason, these days expect to spend almost double the cost of a TDN Vandal dome for a TDN IR Bullet thats any good.
