Jimlyn 0 Posted June 6, 2005 I am looking to set up a simple 1 to 3 camera system for remote viewing only (no recording needed) using the telephone line. The customer does not have internet service although he does have a computer on site with an internal modem. What might be the lowest cost option available for this application. Thanks for your help. scottj 0 Posted June 6, 2005 56k dial-up connection is not going to be enough bandwidth to stream video for up to 3 cameras. Even with 1 camera, the frame rate will be horrible assuming the internet connection stays connected. I would not recommend any remote viewing unless a broadband connection is available. scottj
rory 0 Posted June 6, 2005 Ive used the GE Kalatel RSM-1600 in the past ... works well, but you only stream 1 camera at a time. Basically video is not like broadband, more like what was on the news channels during the initial Iraq war coverage.
jeromephone 6 Posted June 6, 2005 I have used Ozvision and it was ok The setup was b/w cameras in an elderly persons home and the daughter could dial in and check on her the motion was a little choppy but you could see what was going on. price was not too bad either
