FredB 0 Posted June 6, 2005 http://www.wizkidoptotech.com/products/index.cfm?img=18&area=1 or Nuvicos vandal proof domes??? Need 2 IR vandal proof domes overlooking a door 10 ft away outside. Any Suggestions. Electronic Iris with a fixed lens is fine.
rory 0 Posted June 6, 2005 id stay way from the domes with integrated IR though, they tend to reflect too much IR when its on, inside the dome ... also that has no IR Cut Filter. Id use a BW or Day Night (wizkid doesnt have any decent day nights, great BWs though) Dome, then add one of these: http://www.wizkidoptotech.com/products/index.cfm?img=
rory 0 Posted June 6, 2005 Same domes I think, at least the housing and general types, specs seem slightly different .. But Nuvico has the outdoor versions also. http://nuvico.com/product/detail.html?product_id=45 http://www.dvrsurveillance.com/Surveillance_cameras/SC5712_TDN_dome.htm Im hoping I will be able to get some nuvico pricing on Monday, will wait to find out if they will sell to the Bahamas
FredB 0 Posted June 6, 2005 Good specs on that Ambush dome. They are just down the street from me. Never knew. Thanks! The place where we are putting in the domes are kind of dark and a small open area outside. The camera would just be less then 8 feet from the doors. Don't really need Auto Iris, and I was thinking that the IR might cause the Mechanical IR to switch all the time. Whay do you think?
rory 0 Posted June 6, 2005 Once there is not too much Infrared, it should be fine. Its all about adjusting the IR so there is not too much glare. How about some motion detector lighting?

rory 0 Posted June 6, 2005 Probably a better idea. I'll talk to the customer. Would be alot cheaper Well actually the WZ12 is pretty inexpensive, but then you may have the issue with glare ..
rory 0 Posted June 9, 2005 Fred, problem solved on my end ... ive decided to only sell 1 brand of cameras, ExtremeCCTV ... forget the rest, go with the best .. WizKid is part of the Extreme Company. Basically unsurpassed Technical and Sales Support. Im speciallizing in High End and Vandal Proof apps now, Ill leave the Low End to the plumbers and PC stores down here that all install eclipse or WebCams and make no real living off CCTV ... This way those guys will sub us on the large jobs that they cant handle ... DVRs - PT R4000 and R16000, ActiveTek 4ch, Webgate 8 & 16ch, and GE 4,10 & 16 ch (or other high end stand alone). Also 16 ch 480/480 PC DVR for special apps. Now remember, things are totally different down here though from the US ... this is the best thing I can do to make a living in CCTV down here, specialise. Designssnet 0 Posted October 7, 2005 I would highly recommend the nuvico dome, very good and cheap...
Jasper 0 Posted October 7, 2005 Since I have seen this same post in severa threads today I was wondering what other domes you have experience with and why you like the Nuvico dome so much?
Designssnet 0 Posted October 7, 2005 If you looked at my threads today, you would have also seen that I do recommend the Sanyo dome camera. I have used the Extreme and Sanyo dome cameras in many designs, but found the quality of Nuvico cameras and their pricing puts them in a league by themselves… Best regards, David...
