ryand2 0 Posted December 11, 2010 Firstly hope I'm posting in correct forum Secondly, I've just got a Zeus MK2 DVR installed and trying to use the PSS software to view it, I've tried installing from the supplied disc and directly from web but same issue. It installs perfectly, then I click the application to log in, it asks me for user/password, I enter what the guide says i.e. admin/admin and it returns "incorrect password", so I can't get beyond the login screen. I've tried installing several times but same issue Anyone else have this problem and a work around? Got the web download from http://www.adata.co.uk/support/ApolloRemoteViewingSoftware.htm
rory 0 Posted December 12, 2010 Should work, maybe try PSS download direct from the manufacturer's website: http://www.dahuasecurity.com/download.aspx?p=fwyxz&p_kind=4&c_kind=17&c_kind2=139 Its the first on the list, version 4.04 - I havent tested 4.04 yet though, I use 4.03. ryand2 0 Posted December 12, 2010 Thanks, exact same problem, I take all defaults on installing the setup.exe file, says its installed correctly etc, then when you click to log in and type admin/admin, tells me its the wrong password! I'm running Win Vista business SP2 if that makes any difference
rory 0 Posted December 12, 2010 I dont know about the Vista thing. But when I installed that version the user and password was already entered in the text boxes so no need to do anything but click ok to login. Did you uninstall the old version first? Also delete the PSS folders before reinstalling as it uses a file in that folder for the user and password. Make sure you are logged in as an Admin also. And right click run in XP Compatibility mode if it has that option - dont use vista myself so cant say for sure.
rory 0 Posted December 12, 2010 actually .. just leave the password blank or delete what is there and see if it logs in. In the PSS path there is a file called PSS_Config.ini, the password is in there: These are the 2 fields for that: SUser_ID= SUser_PSW= So with a default setup it would be: SUser_ID=admin SUser_PSW=00990103011501160128 ^ that long number is really 'admin' in english. so that would mean you would have to then enter the password 'admin' If you leave it blank it will not require a password. Example: SUser_ID=admin SUser_PSW= You would need to delete any text in the password box as it saves that text in the file also. There is another section in that same PSS_CONFIG.INI file: The following will make it autologin, if the password is blank in the above fields: Note check=1 means save the user and pass. [Login_Info] ;ÊÇ·ñ±£´æÃÜÂë Check=1 ;Óû§Ãû UserName=admin ;ÃÜÂë Password= PSSAutoLogin=1 Also regarding the section just above; If autologin = 0 then you will see the login box and the user and pass will be entered in the text boxes once check=1. Ok so basically if the Password= value is different than the initial SUser_PSW= value then it will error like you are getting now. This is mostly the same as the previous versions so there could be some conflicts. Just make them both blank and you are good to go with no password needed. Ive attached the modified PSS_CONFIG.INI in a zip file, this uses no password and auto logins, this is for ver 4.04. When you exit no password needed either, just click ok. Just extract the INI file and overwrite the existing one. PSS_Config.zip
ryand2 0 Posted December 12, 2010 Many thanks for taking the time to write that detailed post, good news... success! I didn't do any of the procedures you detailed, firstly I decided to uninstall (again x 6) what I had installed, I noticed (as you mentioned) there was still a PSS directory still on m C drive with "skins", so I manually deleted it, I then disabled the UAC within User Accounts under Control Panel, rebooted, re-installed the ver 4.04 software and hey presto, the login screen appeared with admin/admin already populated, click OK and I was in So if anyone wished to install PSS on a vista machine turn off "UAC" first Thanks again, many more questions to ask on other topics as just new to CCTV
ryand2 0 Posted December 12, 2010 New question on PSS, I'll keep this to same thread Motion Detect - does this have to be set separate for Day & Night? My day MD seems to be working fine, but I get nothing at night I MD just 1 period covering 00:00-23:59 each day. Sensitivity is set to 4 and Brightness to 50 Also on MD, the area it detects, do you 'blank out' the area/cells/pixels you don't want it to detect on and thus the balance of the area that you see the camera live image on is the only area it will MD on, or does it work the opposite way, i.e. you blank the area you want to MD, reason I ask, is that the area I've blanked and thus wouldn't except to record, is showing MD records
