Motion detection problems icatch x11 equivalent

Hi there,

 

I have a DVR that is from what I can tell a re-branded icatch X11 4channel.

I think this because I have looked up the mac address and this reports to be manuf. by icatch, the software looks the same and the DVR itself has same external layout (DB25 for sensors/ptz etc).

My DVR came with the firmware 1.0.3 build 91.

 

I have tried from day 1 to setup motion detection. This has only ever worked once and that was when I moved my hand across the entire camera view very slowly. That was not repeatable. I have tried a multitude of settings to try to get this working but have had no luck. I spoke to the supplier in the UK and they sent me a newer firmware to try 1.0.3 build 92, this hasn't helped.

 

Has anyone else had motion detection issues on the icatch? If so how did you solve them?

 

I have seen the icatch firmware thread (http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=22086) and am tempted to try the newest icatch firmware on my DVR to see if that helps, but they're only on build 95 and I'm afraid it might brick it!

firmware update will not do HARM IT SHOULD HELP

for the motion to work on X11 you have to set the timer for it set 24/7 timer for motion and that will fix your issue
