leotzian 0 Posted January 3, 2011 Hi this is my first post to your forum I want to ask you something if anyone knows. I have bought 6 months ago a KPD676 8 channels DVR, the shop said it is a MPEG 4 device. Now in the internet I see the same KPD676 8 channels DVR that they claim to be an H264 device. Please tell me if you know there are 2 different models or there is a software upgrade to the H264 model? Can I upgrade it to make my MPEG4 H264 ( or is there an internet adress to upgrade it )? I had upgrade it to v1052 but still no H264 support the firmware files all together are about 6Mb Thanks in advance
markideals 0 Posted January 7, 2011 Hi Friend, The device you hold now maybe use the chipsets support MJPEG 4 & H.264 the same time. You can try to check whether there is another selection in the dvr setting for H.264. If not workable, it can not be updated to H.264 because of the chipset hard ware limitation. There is no software can update Mjpeg 4 to H.264 To be honest, many sellers claim the DVR use H.264, actually it's always Mjpeg 4. Mark
