vennem 0 Posted January 9, 2011 i bought a night owl setup, and i setup everythig and it works with the viewing program but i want to be able to view at work using ie or firefox. my isp blocks port 80, so i setup the web port as 81 and the dvr has 192.168.1.101 assigned to it and i fowarded the web port, and the media port to the dvr but i can not get it to work, i tryed to even view it wile in the network by going to 192.168.1.101 and that dosent even work. thanks for any help Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
D.V.S. 0 Posted January 9, 2011 That ip address is your local address. You have to know your public address to access your system outside your LAN. Read this guide. http://www.networkwebcams.co.uk/blog/2007/10/22/howto-port-forwarding-101/ edit: Once you have found your public ip address, port forwarded, properly configured your device,and set up/disabled firewalls, then the address should look something like this. http://66.91.19.1:81 66.91.19.1 is an example public address and 81 is the port number.
