Google to cut H264 playback in Chrome

I don't understand quite what this means or if it's important to the surveillance community as a whole. Hoping some of you can translate/explain if it's a concern. I use Chrome, I like it a lot actually....not sure if it makes a blip in the big picture but wanted to make sure.

Wont have any effect on whats out there right now, HTML5 video is still rather new and we can just use mp4 viewers instead like we do now such as JWplayer. Most h.264 DVRs dont have any stream like that outside of ActiveX anyway. And as the codecs are custom anyway they wont work inside the browser without a plugin unless its in some other basic form like jpeg.
