cocacola 0 Posted January 14, 2011 (edited) As a owner of a little security company i have besinds of camera`s use of a good light. I am happy to hear what kind of lights you use, so drop them down in this topic. Kick off: Maglite 3D whit custom 9x AA to 3D adapter, ticks it to 10.8 Volts. Light source 32 Led dropin, 450 lume, floodlight or sometimes a TLE-300M-EX 700 lume. Below great Drop in for MAGLITE 4 to 6 D or C battery (or like me 9AA to 3 D whit AA to D adapter) The TLE-300M-EX Can be use to in the 2D Maglite whit this Lipo Battery adapter. You can insert 2x 18650 3.7 volt lion batt in to the 2D Maglite. A 6 Cell Maglite whit a 9 Watt led UV Dropin and a aspherical lens. Just a fun toy, really powerful black light beam! Little Maglite Whit powerful Uv drop-in and whit two a Awesome Powerful 3.7 volt AA battery`s (Official name 14500 Li-ion but same size as a AA batt) Beam-shot: That last mini-maglite is useful to check ID cards, money and Driver-license for watermarks. cglaeser 0 Posted January 14, 2011 I still have a couple of Maglites. Not sure why I keep 'em. Probably come in handy if I need to club fish in the dark. I love my new Nebo Redline. Fits in the palm, aircraft aluminum, over 200 lumens with three commonly available AAA batteries, several low and medium power settings, AND ... it's focusable. All for $25. How many lites can compete with that? I also love the Fenix because they have many AA and AAA models. Just got my brother a 4 AA in a double barrel design. Very nice lite. Soundy 1 Posted January 17, 2011 This... or any of a dozen variations on the idea: Actually, the best one I have, instead of standard off-the-shelf LEDs with a reflector behind them, has seven tiny "chip" LEDs, each in its own parabolic reflector, for really good throw... and it only cost $5 in a clearance store. Downside is, the whole thing is made of really cheap plastic and is currently held together with several layers of PVC tape. No kind of name anywhere on it, either, so I can't find an exact replacement. My other best fried is one similar to this: Wraps around girders, sprinkler pipes... my arm... hooks into the front of my shirt... magnetic feet allow me to stick it to the side of a computer case, or even inside a computer. Insanely useful. Regular flashlights are so... inflexible
Campbell 0 Posted January 18, 2011 When I used to do the installs, I either used a head torch or more often than not, my Makita LXT fluoro. I've used the fluoro for years and it's always done the job. PS Makita LXT series of tools. Best investment EVER.
