FIERCE4203 0 Posted January 14, 2011 Have to do a lcd install with ir repeater thought would be great idea to run it through the cctv dvr as well. After all the dvr is in another room and it does have a remote. Anyone do this before? One thing hooking up a output to a tv but now you can control dvr from different room. Think I might have to do this at my house now.

SEANHAWG 1 Posted January 16, 2011 Great idea, I was thinking of doing something similar in my house. But What I really want to do is be able to bring my DVR's mouse with me in any room of the house because I really like controlling my DVR with my mouse, especially the PTZ. I know they make pretty long range wireless mice but those usually arent plug and play and you have to have a windows operating system. Does anyone know how to overcome this? Dirk_D 0 Posted January 19, 2011 how are you TXing the video? Is DVR client software inconvenient here? why not try powermids if you have an IR mouse?
Dirk_D 0 Posted January 19, 2011 I haven't read up on it much, or even thought about it in the last couple of years, but Zigbee might be an option. I'm here to post my own question but here's something to look into: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=1225 (random article)
FIERCE4203 0 Posted January 19, 2011 the TV was mounted to be a floating tv (no visible wires/boxes/mount). TV is used in bedroom and client wanted to go to input to monitor exterior door. We then took it one step further and incorporated the dvr with the Ir repater because the DVR had a remote and its easier for client (not very computer savy). The DVR is setup for local/remote view.
