I appreciate I’m asking for a lot of effort but if I can be helped I’m sure a lot of others will benefit. Going nuts with Sentient DVR 250 Gb H.264 Network DVR trying to get Network settings correct. I only have half an idea what I’m doing but in my defence the instructions are crap. Help!! I believe I have set port forwarding OK on the router and Norton 360. When set in Static IP mode I can log in OK and see the cameras within the home wireless network (Sagem Sky Router) if I enter the internal ip address of the DVR e.g. 192.168.0.3 into IE. The same (apparently) if the IP setting is switched to DHCP. I have no confidence at all in being able to do the same remotely because I have very little clue what to enter into the other Network Tab fields. To enable an easier reply, these are: Field…………………Currently…….Comment IP Setting Tab: 1. IP Setting…………DCHP 2. IP Address………..192.168.0.3….Automatically set? (by Router?) 3. tomcctv 190 Posted January 15, 2011 you may have gone to far into your router settings. you only need services and firwall settings. click security once loged on to your router. then click services at the bottom of that window click add custom service. then choose a name for the service i.e cctv. then click TCP/UDP and then enter your ports number then click apply. you will need to do this for each port needed so cctv = 80 cctv1 = 6001 cctv2 = 6002 cctv3 =6003 now click firewall rules. filter name = dvr service = choose a rule you created i.e cctv(TCP/UDP 80) from drop down list. allow always your dvrs local ip 192.168.0.3 wan user = any do this for all your ports that you created and press apply after each. then your done. use google to find your external ip myip.com you can then log on as http://yourip/port.
