goalie 0 Posted June 11, 2005 Has anyone come across a security system that sends an intrusion alert over the internet. For example a pre-programmed IP address into the keypad unit. In case the Net is down it should dial via phone?
goalie 0 Posted June 12, 2005 Actually, a module to add-on to existing alarm systems would be best. It should send a signal over TCp/IP when the alarm is tripped instead of dialing out to the central monitoring station, or both
rory 0 Posted June 12, 2005 The phone part is easy, use a phone dialer, simple to hook up to any alarm system: http://www.unitedsecurity.com/autodialers.htm As for TCP/IP, not sure, but why would you prefer a less stable form of transmission? Some alarm panels have additional modules such as Napco: http://www.napcoinsider.com/netlink.htm
McJannet 0 Posted June 14, 2005 Gents: This sort of system is very popular in Australia - provides real time combined security and access control. With PSTN dialler backup. Should be coming to North America, should be called something like the GE Alliance. In Australia it is known as the Tecom Challenger. Software is (Multi User) Titan. Ethernet is an add-on module, replacing a serial card. Intrusion alert is sent to software. For ehternet forwarding to monitoring station, require 3rd party software or configure so that alarms are dial-out while access events are not. Everything still recorded at Titan software. Many thousands sold in Australia. http://www.tecom.com.au http://www.tecom.com.au/816cat.pdf http://www.tecom.com.au/Titan_Gold.htm Regards: Dave

Bluto 0 Posted June 21, 2005 try Digital Monitoring Products - www.dmp.com - as they have the best network based IP alarm capability. Another one out of Australia that I would rank number 2 is Pacom.
