ironeagle 0 Posted February 1, 2011 Hello, I'm building a new home and will probably be putting in a cctv system around my house and at the beginning of my driveway. The house will not be done for another 6 months, but I'm getting ready to dig a trench along my drive and want some advice. I don't know much about cctv's as I am a locksmith by trade. Here is what I want my system to be able to do if possible: 6 -8 channels 7 - 15 fps is ok record storage for at least a week 2 or 3 of the cameras to be on motion sensor and night capable or motion light to come on be able to view remotely with smart phone or computer (assume it would have to be a pc based for this?) camera at the end of drive to be 2 way voice I'm going to try to do much of this myself if possible since I can do wiring as the house is constructed. The biggest concern right now is what to drop in the trench down the drive and what might be needed at the end of the drive for future expansion and or technology. One tip I got off a home building forum was to place several pvc pipes under drive at various points to run future wiring to a shed or whatever may be built 10 years from now. I guess if it is going to be a pc based system I'd want the brand or software that would offer the best tech support as I do not know what I'm doing.
ssmith10pn 0 Posted February 2, 2011 If I were you I would put 1 1/2" PVC in your trench every into an inexpensive Quazite box like these every 500'.
