Budget DVR's in aus - qsee avtech rhinoco uvision etc

Recommended Posts

hi all,

im looking at a setting up a budget system, and going to ask the same question that heaps of others have probably asked in the past, but doing a search on budget dvr's and some of the brand names does not bring up any definative answers....

My main criteria is to record 4 channels at D1 704x576 (720x576) at 25fps.

also a spot output for connection to a tv

main use is motion based record

I've been looking at cheap dvr's such as qsee avtech rhinoco/watchguard and also some of the ones on aliexpress (leetek, avtech, hisung, vgsion, general china ones).

ie

Watchguard DVR4CHSOV6H264

Avtech AVC793ZD

budget for a dvr will be upto $500, now I know you get what you pay for etc so dont start flaming me for wanting to do it on the cheap. currently funds do not allow for something like a hikvision dvr

What i do want to know though, is if anyones had a lot of hands on experience with any of the sub 500 dollar dvr's on the market in the last year or so and if they can make some recommendations or comments on what they have used, and if you have any sample recorded images from these units for comparison. I know some of you's would have purchased various cheap dvr's so any real info on these will be appreciated

Camerawise i will be looking at day night bullets 1/3" sony CCD with 550TVL

The other alternative i thought about is ip cams ie vivotek IP8332, but then i need to record it to a pc (currently have an intel atom based pc that is on 24/7 but may be underpowered for this?), and would need to setup an output from pc to TV
