CNB HDE2424DV - Remote Viewing Lag >>

I have a CNB HDE2424DV and it works good as a DVR but the remote viewing is pretty limited. Unless I am viewing from the local LAN it is very choppy and lagged.

 

Is there anything I can do to help with this. I have a cable modem which is only 512kb upload. What are the bandwidth requirements for a good stream?

 

Couple other issues;

-ports can only be changed in the 8000-12000 range. why the limitation

-active x requirement for viewing. is there anyway around this.

512kb is pretty much the minimum to get usable stream over the internet.

You gotta pay more to get faster remote streaming. Try to get a service with 2 MB upload than.

CNB have a great client software (CMS), I would definitely use that over the web browser.
