juangk 0 Posted February 21, 2011 Hi all, I was testing one IR weatherproof camera (OEM Sony board camera 520TVL) and it gave out an image with distorted and wavy color. The distortion seemed to start small and then grew into bigger wavy band until the image went into B/W mode and disappeared momentarily (occassionally). The problem then repeats itself again. I attach the link to the video clip of the problem. The camera was powered using standalone 12V 500mA power supply and was connected directly to a portable monitor via RG-6 cable. During testing, there was no high-voltage power line nearby. Also, I tested with another camera on the same setup and the camera worked properly (i.e. cable and BNC connector of the patch cable is OK). Video --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=123x0vAnj1I I hope someone could give some hints into this problem. Thanks ! Juang.

juangk 0 Posted February 23, 2011 Thanks for the tip. I tried your suggestion and used 12V 1A power adaptor. Unfortunately, the result is still the same. The link to the camera is --> http://www.ccdcam.cn/product_text.asp?id=716&tlink= Refer to the EC-W5223 model. Thanks again.
rory 0 Posted February 23, 2011 Lots of issues with that HQ1 chip ... But if you can, disconnect the IR from the camera power and see if that helps.
