annefinland 0 Posted February 22, 2011 Hi everyone! For my master's thesis I am constructing a measurement system for a solar thermal collector in order to determine the conditions in which condensation occurs inside the collector. One part of this setup should be a monitoring camera (positioned somewhere outside in front of the collector) that is switched on automatically once the conditions inside the collector are such that condensation could occur - in practice we will probably do some dew-point calculations with the measured temperature and humidity data and then generate a voltage signal that we could send to the camera. My question is now: Can someone recommend an outdoor/weatherproof camera that has an input channel for a trigger signal? The setup is situated in Finland, so the camera should be able to handle quite low temperatures. Some infrared-option would be nice, as the condensation probably occurs during nighttime/early morning. A low-cost model would be preferable, maybe up to 300 € / 400 $. Thanks a lot for your time and effort! Chilly greetings from Finland (-30 Celsius here last week) Anne
annefinland 0 Posted February 25, 2011 Hey folks, any ideas? I need to finish my setup proposal soon, and some expert input on the camera matter would be really great! The question was if someone could recommend an outdoor camera with a seperate signal input channel (for triggering the camera using our own signals). Thanks!!
