Nice! I assume that you purchased it somewhere in Europe judging by the way they spell color "colour". Ikegami and Computar are both reputable brands in the surveillance industry. The Computar is a zoom lens and can actually zoom in and out from a remote control. The device that the camera is setting on is a Pan/Tilt head and can also move left and right up and down being remote controlled. I cant tell what brand it is though. Its not to be used outdoors unless you put the camera inside a housing.

I would estimate that you could sell it for around $200-300 USD in used condition as long as it works, atleast thats what I have experienced in selling used stuff like that. That whole setup is probably nearing or over $1000 New. But that camera looks kind of old and I bet they dont make that model anymore. You could probably price it more but it would set on your shelf a little longer. If you can get it to work, you may want to keep it as its a pretty cool setup.

Hi Seanhawg, thank you for taking the time-out to reply to me with exactly the info i was after.

I actually got this camera in London from inside Apple headquarters that they used in one of the boardrooms, they were going to throw it away as they were updating everything, so i took it.

Its very heavy and i haven't actually tried if it works but im pretty sure it does as they were still using it. Is there any way to test if its working thats simple so i can say in the advert its working?

Its marked with Ikegami and Videmech ltd if that is the makes ?

I am after selling it yes from the UK, as its so heavy im guessing the best way is for pick up only?

Is there any sites you can recommend that i can sell it on? i dont want to be greedy with it.

Thanks so much

Peter

Unfortunately, it might be hard to sell the whole assembly for what it's actually worth. The camera is only a small part of the value of that setup; the P/T head and lens are what's really valuable, and you probably don't have the ability to test those (either the controller or the knowledge). Maybe Sean will offer you a good deal?

Yeah, I'd make an offer if the shipping costs didnt eat it up.

See if you can find a model on the Pan/Tilt head and contact the manufacturer to see if you can get a manual. Once you do, let us know and we'll do our best to show you the cheapest way to get it tested. Do you have a DVR?

Hi again guys I've tried getting the manual but it seems harder to get the specific one as i don't know much about cameras. Do you know a site or a pdf I can print the manual from? or a UK site to sell it on as it is?

I think sending it to the US will be very expensive it weighs a ton lol

Here's some more pics to try help.

Provide me the actual part number of the lens and I will tell you what it costs. I support the Computar Lens line. I just can't make out the entire part numbers. The lens may be worth way more than the camera.

WOW! A 240VAC pan/tilt. Not something I would want to work with while powered up.

lol i take it, its old then and before the health and safety days?

Yes; rare to see high voltage motor drives now. I did work with a few back in the day (120VAC) but those were domes. They required an electrician to connect a dedicated AC line to the receiver/driver board inside the back box; which used an RS232 control signal.

A high voltage pan/tilt requires a separate receiver/driver and dedicated wiring from it to the motor. Typically that would be 5-6 wires for the motors plus separate video and camera power. In the U.S., the high and low voltage wiring has to be in separate conduits.

Anyone want to make me an offer for the camera ?

Thanks

Hi peter. i take it you are in the uk. the head unit cant be used in the uk anymore. so your best bet is to remove the camera and lens from the head unit and just sell the camera and lens together. but the other problem is not having a control unit. and no one is going to spend good money on a camera so old.

the only way to make any money is just sell the computar lens on its own

Would anyone care to make me an offer for this camera? I am not greedy and would rather it found a good home than sitting in my house.

regards

Peter
