sigmaflo 0 Posted June 19, 2005 Hi, I am considering buying a HSDVR 046, 4 ch recorder with a 200Gb HD. It will be used to monitor 3 PAL cctv cameras at about 1 fps ( no audio ). All in PAL, as I am in Spain. I would also like to use the fourth channel having a PAL video input at 50fps, from my satellite tv box, to occasionally record and playback at a later date, up to eight hours of tv programmes, using of course the audio input as well, during which time the other three camera channels will not be used and switched off. As far as I can see from the spec, I will only be able to record at a maximum of 25 fps PAL. Obviously this will affect the quality of the picture, but by what degree ? Anybody out there got any advice ? Kind regards, Chris Griffiths.
jsimon 0 Posted June 19, 2005 25 fps is real time on Pal, you don't loose anything
rory 0 Posted June 19, 2005 If the DVR is total 25fps, and you have 3 cameras doing 1fps. then your sat channel will be 22fps, which will be just under real time. Dont count on a CCTV DVR to handle TV video, as you will also require huge amounts of Hard Disk size, plus the video is compressed no matter what, so it will not be worth watching.
