eddie888 0 Posted March 7, 2011 I have 2 questions on the above DVR: 1. I have a Seagate 80GB HDD, but the system recognises it as an 8GB drive and starts overwriting when the 8GB is used up. Is there any setting to tell the system that the HDD has 80GB capacity? 2. I have frequent electrical power outages, often for longer than the 30 minutes that my UPS lasts, so I keep having to reset the time and date. I looked at the motherboard, but could not see a small battery (similar to those in computers). Is there a battery hidden somewhere? If not, any other suggestion? Leohuangdi 0 Posted March 7, 2011 Hi Eddie, you can try to format the HDD in your computer, or try to upgrade the firmware. But first take a look to the list of records to check if it's really overwriting the same files (some DVRs they divided the hdd in lots of some GB, so it's possible that that dvr don't show the total space of hard disk but one by one all the lot). About the power, that model i think doesn't have battery, in the manual they said to recharge it for consecutives 24 or 48 hours. Since you have the problem with the electricity you should consider to buy an UPS (uninterruped power suplly). Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Re the HDD you are right, it cuts it up in 8gb segments, but actually uses the full 80gb. Re the battery, and this is why it took me time to reply, the battery is actually on the underside of the motherboard (weird eh). It is an SII (Seiko) MS Lithium rechargeable battery, similar to the one shown in the attached link. Unfortuneately the small plate soldered to the battery covers the battery number. I can only see the MS and the F (no E), but not the numbers in between, so it looks like MS***F. Do you have any clue? Anyway I've never seen this type on sale. Looks like I have to just reset the date and time, everytime there is a power failure. I use a UPS, but that only lasts about 30 minutes. Leohuangdi 0 Posted March 17, 2011 Maybe this one? MS621F , that one is Manganese Silicon battery, 3V. The one i always see in Avtech dvrs are lithium battery 3V CR2032. i think it should be ok for your DVR too (the most important is the voltage). Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
