bpzle 0 Posted March 10, 2011 You guys know who the best (maybe even free??) service provider is to get a VOIP phone number for nationwide wide calling? I'm tired of dropping calls on my cell phone (thanks Sprint) and I'd like to be able to leverage my stellar Charter internet connection when I'm at the house... Thanks! bpzle 0 Posted March 10, 2011 I ran across the ooma in my internet searches... found it on Amazon Expensive upfront equipment cost... I wonder if it's worth it.... hmmmm thanks!
Birdman Adam 0 Posted March 15, 2011 When the contract runs out you ought to switch! Verizon has been awesome for me! I haven't used any of these VOIP services except for Skype (video-calls), but Clark Howard approves of both Ooma and MagicJack. If you have a good internet connection, all these services will work great. On a recent show, he said pretty much the only problems people have with VOIP services has been call quality (due to crappy connection).

Yes unless its licensed to operate here which Skype etc arent, only the government run Telco is and some other small barely used telco company. Numb-nuts 1 Posted May 19, 2011 Here in the UK we have Sipgate or Vonage. I use the Sipgate service, no particular reason, it was the first one I used and it's never disappointed me. I haven't used Vonage but have never heard anything but good reports about them. Not heard anything bad about Skype for that matter. Only praise.
HTElectrical 0 Posted May 19, 2011 You know that Microsoft owns Skype now for the low low price of $8.5bn!!!
